Construction change order tracking and approval
Changes are manageable when their scope, proposed price, approval status and project impact are recorded before the work is treated as authorized.
Describe the scope clearly
State what changes, the reason, relevant drawing references, exclusions and who must approve.
Price the proposed change
Identify direct labor, materials, equipment and subcontract costs and apply the contract's permitted markup. The proposed price does not change the contract until approved.
Keep a decision record
Store request, revisions, decision date, signatures when required, and any resulting schedule or budget adjustment.
